Allergy Testing Laboratories

These companies offer information and in-vitro (laboratory) testing for allergies. Individual skin tests are done in a trained physician’s office. The particular method that a given laboratory uses may vary, but the majority of tests measure specific levels of IgE (reactive) antibodies in a patient’s blood serum to selected allergens. The tests have been standardized so that comparable results should be obtained by any of the various labs. They all produce good and timely results. It is primarily the cost of the tests and the level of service they provide that varies between them.
